Village Of Dane

The Village of Dane contracts with Waste Management for curbside pick up of trash and recyclables. Trash is picked up every Wednesday, recyclables every other Wednesday (see schedule on the next page). If a holiday falls on a day before Wednesday, trash pick up will be Thursday. Please note that Waste Management may start as early as 7 am collecting.

Please remember to separate your recyclables from your garbage failure to do so may result in your trash being left at the curb.

Due to changes in the law, the village can no longer pick up refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners or any other appliances that use Freon. Please keep this in mind when buying new appliances. Contact Waste Management at 1-888-960-0008 for pick up of these appliances for a fee.

Please note that if you have additional bags that do not fit in your container please contact Waste Management, prior to collection day and they will pick up the additional bags.

Below is a listing of prices for collection of specific large item:

Carpets and/or pads - $1.50 per sq. yard
Mattresses, Furniture & sofas - $25.00 each
Small appliances (microwaves, toaster/pizza ovens) - $35 each
Big appliances (refrigerators, freezers) - $ 50.00 each
Commercial appliances (with Freon) - $ 75.00 each
Computers, TV's and other electronics - $ 17.00 - $30 each (starting in January, the new electronic recycling law comes into affect - so the pickup/disposal of these types of items WILL change according to the regulations set forth by the state and the DNR, though penalties will not be issued until September 1st, 2010)

The Dane Dandy Doers 4-H Club has a container for aluminum cans at the Town of Dane garage located at 213 W Main St.

Waste Management’s holidays that effect trash and recycling pick up include New Year Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
